Renaming

I've decided that Peanut doesn't really fit my middle child.  I don't really have nicknames for my kids.  I've decided that my older son is now going to be Monkey.  How much easier it is to name a child on a blog than in real life!

They say...

Have you ever wondered who "they" are?  I have and do quite regularly.  "They" tell us all sorts of things; how to take care of our bodies, our children, our house, dog, laundry.  "They" tell us what is going on in the world, hunger, pollution, global climate change.  "They" tell us about our economic situation, the value of just about everything that exists.  My favorite thing that I keep hearing "them" tell us:  Gas prices.  "They" say gas prices are going to go up to $5 by the end of the year.  Now "they" say it may drop $.50 in the next month.  How on earth can "they" predict something like that and yet not be able to control it?  The amount of knowledge that "they" have is amazing.  I have also noticed that the knowledge of the all knowing "they" has grown even more with the advances of the internet and the emails that spread like wildfires telling us all about what "they" say.  Sometimes these emails won't even use their real names, rather the emails will have written in it "They say if you do..."  It is truly amazing.  One day, when I grow up, I want to become a "they".

Baa.. My new wool obsession

This is not good.  I've been good up until now and have kept away from the world of wool diaper covers.  That is until recently.  I now have 3 covers and I want more!  I've heard that it happens, I just didn't understand how or why.  They do look awfully cute with their little wool bottoms on.  Peanut doesn't have (or need) wool.  Bug on the other hand has the cutest little wool shorties.  They have a little dragon on them and I can't wait to have him wear them when it's a little warmer out.  It seems a little strange to have him wear them when it's still only in the 50s.

Peanut can stick with his one size pockets and AI2s, we're hoping he potty trains soon.  He was excited to get his new Buzz and Woody big boy underwear for Easter.  He wore the one pair that day for about 1/2 hour.  Then he said he had to potty and before he finished telling me, he started peeing... on my mom's wood laminate floor.  At least he missed the carpet.  You never realize how much a 3 year old's bladder is capable of holding until you see it on the floor.

But, I digress, I've been spending way too much time looking at all the different types of wool.  Upcycled, knitted, custom, things with appliques on them.  They are all so cute.  Whichever I get, I want to make sure I like it... I know my husband will kill me when he sees the bill!

Oh the things they say

Kids are stinkin' hilarious.  They say some of the funniest things that would otherwise be considered rude, impractical, illogical or just plain dumb if uttered from the mouths of anyone other than a 5 or 3 year old.

To share a few:
-I was in the car with the kids and drove up alongside the mailbox to pick up the mail.  Sunshine asks "Did we get any new diapers for Bug?"  Ummm, nooo.  Obviously I've been buying too many diapers for the kids.  She continues, "I think we should buy some more.  He needs some cute ones with some animals on them."
-Peanut received a dog pillow pet and opens it up.  He opens it up and we ask him what it is.  His answer, "A flying squirrel."  He later tells us the flying squirrel's name is Murdock.  I have no idea where he came up with that name but apparently they watch too much Animal Planet.
-Peanut:  Anything I'm eating that looks extra good he will make sure he comes up to me and say "Mommy, shaaarrrre me."  A little rude and if his speech were better I probably wouldn't think it was so funny but for now, his voice is still so little and cute that it's funny.
